About Us

NOVA Montréal is a non-profit charitable organization that has been providing community health care to Montrealers since 1898. Dedicated to identifying needs and filling gaps in the health care system, we, for example, recently developed a service to provide desperately needed in-home respite for parents coping with the challenges of 24-hour care of their chronically ill or disabled pre-school age children.

NOVA Montréal is there to help with the ever-increasing needs of the frail elderly, and to help people cope with the long-term effects of arthritis, strokes, Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s Disease, or Multiple Sclerosis. Trained and compassionate support workers provide home support services. Our goal is to enable those in need to maintain their independence at home in secure and familiar surroundings as long as possible.

We provide specialized home nursing care and support for families of individuals in the terminal phase of cancer. This service is offered on a 24 hour, seven-days a week basis.

Nurses also give in-home or clinic-based footcare for the elderly and diabetic clients having difficulty caring for their own feet.

A NOVA nurse works with the Montreal street youth at the Chez Pops Dans La Rue Day Center.

NOVA Montréal is committed to provide quality home support service to communities in the territory bordered by St-Denis Street to the East;  32nd Avenue in Lachine to the West; Métropolitain Boulevard to the North and the St. Lawrence River to the South, including Lasalle, Verdun and Nun’s Island.
