The Fundraising Committee Volunteer develops and implements fundraising strategies to address multiple sources of funding in support of NOVA Montréal’s programs and services.

As a member of the Fundraising Committee, you will be responsible for:

  • Actively promoting NOVA Montréal in the community
  • Collaborating with the Committee Chair and members of the Fundraising Committee to develop a strategic plan based on short/long-term funding needs of NOVA Montréal
  • Identifying specific, potential sources of funds and/or donations from a mix of sources
  • Assisting in the development, execution and evaluation of all aspects of the Annual Fundraising Campaign, including direct mail, personal solicitation, etc.
  • Serving on sub-committees for specific projects and special events

Qualifications

  • Knowledge or interest in NOVA Montréal’s vision, mission and core values
  • Sincere interest and/or related experience with fundraising activity
  • Transferable skills in one or more areas of fundraising, marketing, communications, public relations, promotion, etc.
  • Personal attributes of benefit to the Fundraising Committee, e.g. proactive, team player, problem solver, creative thinker, etc.

Time Commitment:

  • Committee members are required to attend Fundraising Committee meetings (daytime), minimum 6 meetings a year, and more frequently as required by the committee or assigned workload.
  • Additional volunteer hours are required outside of committee meetings, including time to prepare for meetings, time to meet or contact donors or prospects when needed, volunteering at events and activities, etc.

Organization will provide:

  • Platform to acquire experience in project development, event organization and working with a committee in a non-profit setting
  • Letter of reference, if required
